What is Raptoraem?

Raptoraem is a nine-book dark-fantasy novel series — the core of a wider multimedia world. The story begins in the books, then expands through original artwork, soundtracks, maps, and contraband lore that deepen the city’s shadows and sharpen its myths.

HOW DO YOU SAY RAPTORAEM?

Raptoraem — RAP-tor-æm (ˈræp.tɔːr.aɛm)

æ = the “a” sound, like in cat or ash.

Flow: two and a half beats, clipped and sharp: RAP-tor-æm.

WHAT DOES RAPTORAEM MEAN?

Raptoraem was built to sound Latinate—imperial, hard, like something from an archaic law code. But the root ‘raem’ is Arabic, meaning ‘loving mother.’ So the name holds a paradox: a city that looks like a predator’s nest but still shelters its people; both wound and womb.
